Monday – a productive day and good sales too

So a forecast of possible showers this morning that didn’t show. I got to spend a lot of today sat out in front of the shop drawing, chatting to passers by about my outfit, the pens I was using and the Dog friendly sign too.

So, firstly better in focus pictures of the Water Sports chest completed on Saturday and now up for sale at £15.

Sailing dinghy
Stand up Paddleboard
Kayak angling – very popular recently
Jet skis – seen often in the bay – users vary in their use

So four typical craft seen in Swanage Bay. As I have said with the images the kayak anglers have been noticeably more present the last fortnight. Sailing is back with the Sailing Club reopened to members since the end of March. There are a lot more SUP-ers these days. Finally jet skis, users range from the responsible and considerate of others to speed merchants who have their fun but not always considerate of others.

Today I have finished the large Sea Life wooden box, like the chest the boxes come from The Works. I have added my drawings up using Posca paint pens. Each design is unique – this one is priced at £35.

This particular box was inspired by watching a recording of Perfect Planet by David Attenborough and the local divers in Swanage around the pier and leaving on trips with Divers Down locally too.

On Saturday and todayI have redrawn my personalised signs to lead people to the shop and show what I am up to using recycled frame backs from damaged frames I have disposed of. The drawings are all hand drawn and in Posca paint markers. My previous signs were on backing card which got soggy in the rain.

I started the idea of the road sign format as it is different to all the other signs for local shops and tends to catch the eye. There have been numerous examples of people reading the signs aloud and me answering from within the shop.

So the new series placed within TillyMead but visible to passers by are:

Placed near Lucy’s Farm
Placed between Straight Razor and the shop
In the hedge approaching
between Lucy’s Farm, Chilled Red and Vapespace
Outside my window to link to the new Swanage and Purbeck Dog friendly.social group – I am the hub / co-ordination
Placed next to me when drawing or out front when I am drawing inside the shop or in front of the sanitiser box if it is raining

These signs are only out of course when I am on shift.

I also did some image selection for a project for next year. I served and answered questions for a number of visitors / customers and so.workforce both artists,I was especially happy as I sold a number of prints today.in fact tomorrow I need to order a restock of one particular piece -Last of the Leaves.
