Saturday February 19th sees AndyKnillArt venture further afield. My art has been involved in Purbeck events but I do not take part in events wider afield until next Saturday.
I will be exhibiting and selling art at this event in Southampton and also offering Art for Fun. The event is being organised by Rachel – a member of my Twitter network when working in teaching. Amongst the days events is a swim in the river Itchen which I won’t be participating in.
I have no idea how this will go but wanted to try it to support an old friend and also because I have a lot of respect for the open water swimmers, of whom here are a number in the bay in Swanage daily throughout the year.
Since I moved to the East Kent coast at the age of 10 I became an advocate of sea swimming as it was free and you could swim so much further and try surfing and it linked to boating a upto cities that I did including rowing, sailing and kayaking. I have also enjoyed swimming in lakes while on trips in Europe when younger. when I used to hillwalk I would also swim in tarns, lakes and streams. In 2022 I must try and swim in the bay more again as it is great to gradually increase the distance I can cover, not at any speed but just to see familiar views from a different and lower viewpoint.
This does mean that AndyKnillArt Studio will be closed on Saturday 19th.
