A reflective post

Sat quietly after another shop / studio day Ifound myself on this account and reflect that this has become my Good morning page with pictures over Swanage rather than about my art which tends to go through my other Facebook page for AndyKnillArt Studio .

I moved to the studio /shop onSeptember 1, 2021 and it has been a very active first year. Many sales, a widening of the variety of items that I offer and of course Art for Fun – the opportunity to draw for free with my tools and materials that I have previously offered during Artisans on the Beach 2019, Purbeck Art Weeks when my Open Studio was up on the Encombe estate and at Meet the artist events and duty days while a member of Purbeck Artisan Yard, Wareham.

When I moved to a shared shop indoor space limited how many people I could welcome and exterior space was very restricted. The premises now in Commercial Road offer a great area outside thatI can utilise for much of the year. For a studio only open on four days a week, and theee days lost to illness, to host 378 people to draw in one month in August 2022 showed how far this activity has come on.

AndyKnillArt doesn’t exist separately to AndyKnillArt Studio as being there four days every week (with very few exceptions) I do all my main drawing there. Yes I take photos when out and about and I continue to sketch when out and about.

This reflective piece has also made me look at how I called the unit downstairs at 21 Commercial Road a studio rather than a gallery or a shop but it has all 3 uses. It is my main art studio now in terms of drawing new pieces that I then go on to place up for sale, where I generally work on commission pieces too.

5 years and my 8th month into this whole art adventure things continue to develop. Fdback from friends, visitors and customers are always welcomed.
