Year 9 begins

So a new month, and the 9th year of AndyKnillArt begins. Posts on Facebook and sharing my concerns about takings were read by some acquaintances locally who have sought me out to check that I won’t be going anywhere – I have been honest with them. I am very aware how low trade is for many retail businesses in the town currently. The UK economy does not suggest that things will be getting easier my time soon, but I will comment on how things are going.

The donations box for Art for Fun is being added to without me verbally having to ask. The panorama pics series has had 6 pieces drawn in the last fortnight, 2 from Purbeck and 4 from Lanzarote. Today, 12th February I have already sold 4 of 6 pieces.

I am working on a small chest commission from an ex pupil who found me online, not a recent pupil either – a member of my form class between 1992 and 1996. I am having fun drawing that this week.

Today, I have received a card commission today for some regular customers for a friend’s special birthday. Cards are selling most days too.

February is already financially better off than January. Still early days of the year of course but encouraging all the same. Next week is half term and we will see how many takers we have, I have worked out to get 8 drawing in the shop at a time and still be able to fit other customers in as well, if needed.

That advert for the Purbeck Art Weeks brochure was finalised and part of the design makes up the front side of a new shop double sided leaflet currently in the print process.

All in all a busy and pleasing start to the month.
