Yesterday’s preparations paid off with a welcoming shop that was commented on by a number of visitors today. Here are the decorations with lights on making the place more welcoming. So card sales, a set of markers with follow up art techniques chat offered when pens are given as lives locally. I also offer back …
Today’s post is about mentioning other artists and crafters and I have also mentioned other independent businesses. But knowing so many people in this field now, choosing is so hard. This is the image I used, not artists with businesses but sharing the love of art and emphasising that art is about fun, therapy. It …
I keep receiving memories on Facebook which link to the start of my art journey under the name AndyKnillArt. So a year later was my first Artisans on the Beach event in Swanage in Hut 54. The photo above shows the stock I had inside the hut plus a card carousel outside. If I compare …
This blog has focused on developing as an artist. There is sometimes some reference to what came before. Today on Facebook memories a post came up from four years ago which I can acknowledge shows just how far I have come in that time. As a teacher for the last few years of my career …

A busier day than I had planned or expected. Yesterday a couple who had visited the shop in September emailed about a print they had admired. One copy left in shop was in frame, they wanted non framed. So today’s first art task was to go to shop, remove print, check card mount and prepare …
Ask other shopkeepers locally who sell similar products and apparently this is one I should be considering. So after a brainstorm I started a new use for some of the pen and ink card designs. Rather than hand coloured cards I could modify the theme of the cards as “Original Valentines” where each design will …
Last month I shared my new pieces which are available from the Purbeck Artisan Yard. September has become traditionally the end to my boat season duties by the river Frome in Wareham. Recently I have sold more prints – framed and mounted versions which has been very encouraging. In the next fortnight I will return …
