Launch

Yesterday the shop was shut as I lost a whole nights sleep. Today I am here after a day of catch up rest and some sleep overnight. On Thursday we had collected the new Watersports series cards from my printer and I wanted to launch them.

So today a changed window display, a new rack on the card carousel of various Watersports linked cards.

Updated window display
Labelling idea may be extended to other racks too

The Watersports cards are:

Paddleboarding

This is in response to an increasingly popular pastime in the bay and also requests from people visiting that there aren’t any cards out there with it…so let’s see if they like it.

Sailing – Swanage training session

This was based on a photo taken a few years again before I joined the club and can be found in the training session fleet.

Foiling for life trip across the channel

This includes Waszp foiling dinghies as sailed by our local British team member Sam Whaley, after drawing pieces of Sam I made contact with other members of the Waszp community. This event tool place in August 2020 and also show the Needles off the Isle of Wight.

Kayaking together

This is actually based on Anne and I out paddling in our double sit on top kayak in the bay. Many trips from the sailing club to our favourite beach cafe – Down the Beach at Burlington Chine for some refreshments before a return paddle.

Exercise on the beach

An older card based on a Walker on the beach while someone paddles by in their kayak a scene often repeated in Swanage.

Old Harry from the water

Based on the many people that hire kayaks or paddle their own kayaks out to visit Old Harry Rocks and gain a totally different perspective from walking along the Clifftop.

North across the bay

An early design drawn in the summer to show the variety of boats and water activities in Swanage Bay. At he time I belonged to the Sea Rowing club so two training gigs and the floating pontoon are prominent in the foreground.

Also this morning I have made a custom envelope for latest commission piece from paper gifts by Nico.

I hope that I see some people today but the length of the shop day will be determined by my energy levels, it’s good to be back after having to shut yesterday.
