A day off of several activities…

So Thursday, shop is shut, but a delivery of reprint greeting cards is due after Tuesday’s sales. I woke early and headed down as the sunrise was going on.

Great colours at sunrise

I missed the delivery, which apparently came later and I will fetch from neighbour tomorrow. I had waited until09:00 and done some measuring up for new shop furniture fitting ideas for 2022 as I have successfully settled in to my new location since start in September.

We had the decorators in the kitchen this morning, I was on drinks duty. Simon, it turns out was at school with local artist friend Josh Hollingshead.

I did some Christmas letters. Anne was at the hairdressers – we met at the pier afterwards for a walk and then lunch at the 1859 cafe on the pier a great bowel of modules marinere for me.

Afterwards we headed along the seafront and visited some friends at the beach huts and then into town and a coffee at Java including selling two art sketch pads.

We headed home. I got on with ordering some art materials including new mounts for my A4 drawings and prints. Also an order came in from a friend who used to live in Swanage for some Christmas cards – an order to fulfill tomorrow.

St George’s Langton Matravers

In the evening we went to an Artsreach gig at St George’s church,Langton Matravers to see Amazon Diagne, Corey Seznec and Marius playing a mixture of African pieces inc. west Africa, East Africa esp. Ethiopia, and fusion pieces inc, Breton French. The music and musicianship was great plus I did my old favourite live gig drawing. At the end I gave the musicians their pictures which they were pleased with.

Home via the seafront and we could see the pier lights in the light rain.
